Developers Who Were Guests at the White House

Re the Orange County Newswatch item about the five county developers--Donald Bren, William Lyon, Kathryn Thompson, George Argyros and Jim Baldwin--who were guests of President Bush at the White House.
The White House belongs to all of us, right? As an American, I own a piece of it? Sure. But I can’t go there or see it unless I belong to the “Team 100,” the $100,000 contributors to the Bush campaign.
But I did contribute! Everyone of us who bought one of the overpriced houses from any of these five developers contributed. Did the Team 100 get back more than they gave? No doubt. So then I own more of the White House than I thought I did, and they “contributed” nothing much.
How about a thank-you note, Donald, William and Jim for the dinner in my house I will never see.
Bitter? You bet!
