Thailand Bars Asian Wall Street Journal: Thailand is barring distribution of the Asian Wall Street Journal because of an article that allegedly defamed the supreme patriarch of the country’s predominant Buddhist faith. Although Thailand has strict censorship laws, actions against the media--especially foreign media--are exceedingly rare. Police are also reported to be considering banning the Far Eastern Economic Review for printing an article critical of the government.
