A 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Sunday after allegedly shooting her former boyfriend in his Chatsworth apartment and then turning the gun on herself, police said.
Police, responding to a neighbor’s call shortly after 9 a.m., found the woman, Cecilia Mae Thompson of Los Angeles, and Ulyfee Davis, 48, lying in the dining room of Davis’ apartment in the 9900 block of Lurline Avenue, Los Angeles police Sgt. J.W. Thompson said.
Davis, who was conscious, told police that his former girlfriend had shot him three times before shooting herself with the small-caliber handgun. The woman allegedly was angry over the couple’s recent breakup, police said.
Davis and Thompson were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, police said. Davis was in critical condition, and Thompson was in serious condition with a bullet lodged in her sinus cavity, a hospital spokeswoman said.
