DRESDEN, East Germany — Romanian bobsledder Daniel Oaida died early today in a Dresden hospital from injuries received during training for the world cup bobsled races, the East German news agency ADN reported.
Oaida, piloting a four-man sled that crashed at Altenburg, East Germany, last week, sustained serious head injuries and never regained consciousness after the accident, ADN said in a brief report.
The state-run news agency said Oaida died in the intensive care section of Dresden’s Carl Gustav Carus Hospital.
