Delta Raises Fares: Delta Air Lines said it was raising fares 4% effective Thursday in response to a 45% increase in the price of jet fuel in December. Delta’s action follows similar moves by Pan American World Airways and Continental, United and American airlines. Trans World Airlines and Northwest Airlines imposed separate fuel surcharges.
