Clarke Taylor; Former Times Theater Critic

Clarke Taylor, 46, a New York-based critic for this newspaper who wrote for both the daily and Sunday Calendar sections from 1978 to 1988. Taylor was a founding member of the Performing Artists for Nuclear Disarmament, the AIDS Medical Foundation, the American Foundation for AIDS Research and other fund-raising and AIDS-support groups. He once was an English and drama teacher in Baltimore and New York City. On Jan. 5 in a Manhattan hospital of the complications of acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
