A 19-year-old Inglewood man was shot to death Sunday night by a gunman in a passing vehicle as he rode his bicycle along a residential street, police said.
Jesus Alberto Montes was shot about 9:15 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 105th Street as he pulled up alongside a Datsun carrying four men in their early 20s, police said. After the car sped off, Montes struggled to his feet, police said. However, the car returned and a passenger shot him again, this time hitting him in the heart, police said.
Police said Montes collapsed near a home and was pronounced dead at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital. Investigators said they had no motive for the shooting, although they believe the four men knew Montes.
