Anti-apartheid commissions of the United Nations and the International Olympic Committee will meet for the first time this month to discuss sports relations with South Africa, officials said.
IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch and James Victor Gbedo, the UN ambassador from Ghana and head of the Special Committee Against Apartheid, will head the two delegations at the meeting in Kuwait Feb. 20.
The talks, set up by Samaranch, were described as the first step toward possible reintegration of South Africa into international sports.
