COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Yates Leads Chapman to Baseball Victory

Doug Yates went three for four with a home run and three runs batted in to lead Chapman College to a 6-2 victory over Azusa Pacific in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Hart Park in Orange.
Yates’ one-out, three-run home run keyed a four-run seventh inning that gave Chapman a 6-2 lead. Collin Klein (1-0) was the winning pitcher.
In nonconference women’s tennis:
UC Irvine 7, Loyola Marymount 2--Stacey Cadigan defeated Jori Stinar, 6-2, 6-0, to lead host UC Irvine (2-3). Irvine’s only losses were in doubles, in which it had to default because of injuries. Irvine’s Ali Wyoshimoto and Jennifer Mazgedian defeated Doreen Delgado and Jenny Knotts, 6-3, 6-3.
