Darkness in ‘Heaven’

“Dream Homes in Bungalow Heaven” (Feb. 4) by Laurie Schenden, was an apt title for the fantasy depicted in the story.
Not only are these “homes” tiny, dark and decrepit-looking, but the entire district is indistinguishable from some of the most blasted areas in South-Central L.A.
The incredible thing is not why anyone would want to live there, but why they would spend the $300,000 (not the slightly over $200,000 mentioned in the article), to do so.
