Weekend TV : Networks Sweep in Three Sunday Movies; Channel 28 Profiles Fosse and Baker

The final weekend of the February ratings sweeps pits three new TV movies against each other.
Victoria Principal sashays across the small screen Sunday at 9 p.m. (2)(8) in the CBS movie, “Sparks: The Price of Passion.” She plays the outspoken mayor of Albuquerque, whose political career is threatened by a sexually compromising blackmail attempt.
Over on NBC (4)(36)(39), Robert Mitchum stars Sunday at 8 p.m. as a homeless man posing as the grandfather of four orphaned children in “A Family for Joe.” It’s the pilot for an upcoming series.
ABC will counter Sunday at 8 p.m. (7)(3)(10)(42) with “Challenger,” a three-hour docudrama based on the 1986 space shuttle catastrophe. Karen Allen stars as schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe.
Tonight, Channel 28 profiles two fascinating American artists. At 9 p.m., “Bob Fosse: Steam Heat” remembers the late choreographer with interviews and selections from his musicals. The documentary “Chasing a Rainbow: The Life of Josephine Baker” follows at 10 p.m. with an examination of the complex life of this internationally acclaimed jazz singer.
