Man Shot to Death on Van Nuys Sidewalk

A 20-year-old who police said associated with gang members was found shot to death late Saturday on a sidewalk in Van Nuys.
Juan Martin Luna of Van Nuys was apparently killed instantly after he was shot in the lower torso by an assailant, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ted Hanson said. Residents of the 14800 block of Delano Street told authorities they heard gunshots about 11:15 p.m. and saw Luna lying on the ground, Hanson said.
Luna, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not a member of a gang but he associated with gang members, Hanson said.
