Gathers Is Finalist for Award

The late Hank Gathers of Loyola Marymount is one of five finalists for the 1990 Pete Maravich Award.
Other finalists are Alec Kessler of Georgia, Kevin Pritchard of Kansas, Rumeal Robinson of Michigan and Lionel Simmons of La Salle.
The award goes to a senior college basketball player for leadership, sportsmanship, athletic ability and inspiration. The 1989 winner was Jay Burson of Ohio State.
