Chung Interviews Valdez Captain: Connie Chung will interview Joseph J. Hazelwood, the man who captained the oil tanker Exxon Valdez to one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history, CBS announced Tuesday. The interview, to take place Thursday in the New York area, will be one of three segments on “Saturday Night With Connie Chung,” to air on Saturday. A spokeswoman for the show said that there were no conditions or limitations placed on the interview. Chung has been chasing the Hazelwood interview since July 1989. Hazelwood has not granted any TV interviews on his role in the Prince William Sound oil spill.
