SIMI VALLEY : Boy Accidentally Shoots His Friend

A 9-year-old Simi Valley boy shot his 10-year-old friend in the chest Wednesday with a rifle he found in his garage, police said.
The wounded boy was taken to Simi Valley Adventist Hospital, where he was in fair condition Wednesday night, hospital spokeswoman Gloria Kutches said.
The two boys were playing in the garage of the 9-year-old’s house in the 4200 block of Roxbury Street in Simi Valley when they found a rifle, said Lt. Neal Rein of the Simi Valley Police Department. Rein said police do not know who owns the gun.
