The NCAA Division I Steering Committee rejected a request by the University of Maryland to hear an expedited appeal of the school’s three-year basketball probation.
NCAA President Albert M. Witte said there was no precedent for an expedited appeal. He said Maryland’s case would be heard at the Council’s summer meeting in August in Monterey, Calif.
