ANAHEIM — Police captured an escapee from Irvine’s James A. Musick jail facility on Monday after an anonymous caller tipped them off to his whereabouts.
Diego Ortega Martinez, 30, who was reported missing from the jail Sunday, was arrested at the corner of Magnolia Avenue and Ball Road by Anaheim police, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said.
Martinez was arrested April 20 on suspicion of burglary and had been at the jail in Irvine since May 4, Mendez said. Authorities said they do not know how Martinez escaped.
Martinez, who was scheduled to be released June 12, will probably be charged with escape, Mendez said.
