A 17-year-old Santee boy was arrested Monday after he stole a school bus and led police on a chase through Clairemont and La Jolla, authorities said.
About 1:25 a.m., officers saw a San Diego school bus speeding near Mt. Alifan Drive and Balboa Avenue in Clairemont, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
The officers signaled for the driver to stop, Robinson said, and when he did not, they gave chase.
Police followed the bus until it crashed into a building at Pearl Street and Girard Avenue in La Jolla, Robinson said. The driver, whose name was not released because of his age, was not injured.
