Taiwan, U.S. Reach Beef Accord: Taiwan is lowering tariffs on high-quality U.S. beef but raising them on low-quality beef. It is dropping duties on high-quality beef to 73 cents per kilogram (2.2 pounds) from 87 cents but increasing them on low-quality beef to $1.09 per kilogram from 87 cents. The increase is to protect the domestic cattle industry.
