Chris Gomez of Loyola Marymount singled home a run in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the United States a 5-4 victory over Japan in the fourth game of their five-game collegiate baseball championship series.
The host Japanese team was already assured of winning the series after sweeping the first three games.
