PIGSKIN PARADOX: UC Irvine may have more football players this week than any other college without a team. . . . Both students and the Academic Senate have voted against a football program, but now the campus is swarming with players. The Los Angeles Rams shifted their training to the UCI campus (C14), and the South team for Saturday’s Shrine All-Star Football Game has been practicing there. (C16).
