MISSION VIEJO : Ex-Supt. to Fill Post Temporarily

The Saddleback Community College District Board of Trustees has named former district superintendent Robert A. Lombardi as vice superintendent of employee relations and personnel.
Lombardi, who served as superintendent from 1974 to 1982, has been hired temporarily to replace Maria Sheehan, who transferred to the state headquarters of the community college system in Sacramento to serve as a vice superintendent in charge of faculty and staff diversity.
During his tenure as superintendent, Lombardi directed the opening of Irvine Valley College. Following his resignation in 1982, Lombardi, a 16-year Irvine resident, pursued a career in the private sector in educational software.
