SHORT TAKES : ‘Harts’ to Perform in London

LONDON — Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers, stars of the 1979-84 TV series “Hart to Hart,” make their London stage debuts next month in an American play, “Love Letters.”
A. R. Gurney’s play, seen on Broadway last season and currently in Los Angeles, opens Oct. 1 at Wyndham’s Theater for a four-week run. Wagner and Powers play lifelong friends whose relationship over the years is traced through readings of their letters to one another.
The American productions have employed different pairs of stars every week, from Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst to Timothy Hutton and Elizabeth McGovern. Wagner and Powers will appear throughout the London run.
