The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday extended to Oct. 1 the period to qualify for rewards for identifying arsonists who set fires this summer in Glendale and the Santa Clarita Valley.
The board had earlier approved $25,000 rewards for the apprehension and conviction of the arsonists who set the Glendale fire on June 26 and Santa Clarita Valley fire on July 14.
The Glendale blaze destroyed 46 homes and partially damaged 20 others. In Santa Clarita, 625 acres were burned and several firefighters sustained minor injuries.
