Controversy Over Hayden and ‘Big Green’
I would like to remind all Hayden-bashers that there were thousands of Americans, myself included, who protested against the war as loudly and vocally as Hayden.
Maybe if the people who think that Hayden was so wrong for his actions would go to Washington and see the 58,000 names of the young men who died in Vietnam they might change their minds.
It seems very strange to me that we can forgive the Germans and Japanese for their crimes during World War II, we can be on friendly relations with China and even change our minds about the Evil Empire, but for some reason there are people in this country who still vilify Hayden because he dared to say that we were wrong to be in Vietnam.
