PHILADELPHIA — Musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra today ratified a contract in a last-ditch vote scheduled just hours before the opening concert of the orchestra’s 91st season.
The orchestra had voted Monday night to reject the contract and go on strike.
Orchestra spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold announced the union members’ change of mind as musicians filed onto the stage of the Academy of Music for rehearsal. She said tonight’s performance will go on as scheduled.
She did not provide terms of the contract or the vote margin.
