Czechered Efficiency

I have just finished reading the letter “Czech Out the Rates” (Letters From Readers, Oct. 7). I had an even more unpleasant surprise with Cedok.
Working with my travel agent, I reserved and prepaid a room with bath at the Pupp and Park Hotel in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia.
Upon my arrival, the hotel could not find my reservation. After checking with Cedok-Prague, it appeared that Cedok-New York did not forward my reservation nor my money. Since all rooms with bath were occupied, I wound up paying $200 per night for a suite. While the people in the hotel were very nice, they also told me to bypass Cedok in the future and make reservations directly with the hotels.
