Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) was resting comfortably in an intensive care unit in Boston after suffering a mild heart attack while exercising at a health club, hospital officials said. The 50-year-old lawmaker checked himself into Beth Israel Hospital on Saturday night complaining of chest pains. An examination showed blockage of a coronary artery, and an angioplasty was performed, the hospital said. “I’m pleased to say treatment seems to be working,” said Dr. William Grossman, a Beth Israel cardiologist. “He has no other medical problems.” Dorothy Reichard, a Frank aide, said that he “had been working out, he had been in the gym and started to feel some chest pain and decided to go to the hospital.”
