Ashland Oil Scandal Figure Sentenced: An oil consultant has received two years probation for his role in a conspiracy to sell confidential Ashland Oil Inc. documents to Iran. U.S. District Judge Miriam G. Cedarbaum in Manhattan also ordered Roy M. Furmark to pay Ashland $15,000 in restitution. Furmark had agreed to help former Ashland Chairman Orin E. Atkins meet with representatives of the Iranian National Oil Co. so Atkins could sell documents involving a disputed oil deal to the Iranians.
