Officials of Duarte and the Duarte Unified School District will dedicate the city’s $2-million Performing Arts Center Saturday.
The center will become a major component of what city officials call the Duarte Educational Park, which also includes Duarte High School, a new district administration center and the new Northview Intermediate School.
“Our dream of an educational park has truly been realized with the completion of the auditorium” Supt. Robert Packer said in a news release. “Our staff, teachers and students are excited about the potential impact of the new auditorium on their traditional and modern fine arts classes.”
The auditorium seats 650 and features a 2,500-square-foot stage, an orchestra pit, a studio/classroom, dressing rooms and rehearsal rooms.
Public tours will follow the 10 a.m. dedication ceremony.
