TUSTIN : Office Complex Gets Council’s Go-Ahead

The City Council this week cleared the way for construction of a 126-acre office, retail and light industrial complex in southwestern Tustin.
The 2.4-million-square-foot project, called Pacific Center, is expected to add about $3 million a year to city coffers, according to city officials.
The project will be developed in three phases in an area bounded by Red Hill Avenue, Valencia Avenue, the Costa Mesa Freeway and an Orange County Flood Control channel just north of Edinger Avenue.
This week, the council approved an environmental study concluding that, although the project would increase traffic and noise and would cause air-quality problems, it would not have a significant regional impact.
A zoning change and other decisions necessary before the project can proceed are expected to come before the council in January.
