Rancho Santiago 100, Saddleback 77--Erik Martin scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds for host Rancho Santiago (20-1, 2-0), the top-ranked team in the state.

It was the 17th consecutive victory for the Dons, one short of the school record. Brett Pagett scored 22 and Corie Blount 15 for Rancho Santiago.

Rancho Santiago can tie the school record when it plays Golden West at home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Greg Reynolds had 21 and Matt Thompson 17 for Saddleback (10-8, 1-1).

Cypress 66, Riverside 61--Eric Pauley broke a 61-61 tie with a short jumper with 45 seconds left as Cypress (14-8, 1-1) won at Riverside. After a Riverside miss, Cypress’ Flip Banks scored on a 10-foot jumper with 20 seconds left to make it 65-61.

Pauley had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Chargers, who were outrebounded, 38-29. Charles Lockard added 13 points, including three three-pointers, and Brian Kenney 12.

Fred Haygood scored 17 for Riverside (13-9, 0-1).

In a nonconference game:

Cerritos 81, Orange Coast 57--Brian Spratt scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Mike Curtis scored 12 for visiting Orange Coast (9-9). Joe Jennum scored 20 for Cerritos (18-5).
