Plan OKd to Help Avoid Relocation of Museum

The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously approved a plan requiring the Cultural Affairs Department “to do everything in its power” to keep the historic Southwest Museum from relocating. The council on Tuesday agreed to set up a task force of city officials who will work with museum personnel to help solve problems that have prompted the facility’s board of trustees to think of moving.

But Councilman Richard Alatorre, whose 14th District includes the museum property, has been working to keep the museum where it is.
