Estancia’s Golfers Begin Defense of Section Title Today

COSTA MESA — The Estancia High School golf team, two-time defending Southern Section champions, will take a step toward a third consecutive title at noon today at the Southern Regional competition at Mesa Verde County Club in Costa Mesa.
Estancia, which plays its home matches at Mesa Verde, should face strong competition from Sunset League champion Marina, South Coast League champion Dana Hills, and others such as Huntington Beach, Corona del Mar and El Toro.
The top three teams from the regional, one of six in the section, will advance to the Southern Section championships May 13 at La Cumbre Country Club in Santa Barbara.
