California IN BRIEF : MARYSVILLE : 1 Killed, 1 Hurt as Crop-Dusters Crash

One pilot was killed and another seriously injured in the collision of their crop-dusting planes over the Sacramento Valley, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department reported. Witnesses told deputies that the single-engine planes had been spraying herbicide on separate fields and each had completed passes at about 8:45 a.m. They turned into each other and collided about 100 feet above the ground while preparing for return passes. The accident took place about 10 miles north of Marysville. Names of the victims were withheld until relatives could be notified.
