A Tarnished Cosby: When a New York television reporter asked Sidney Poitier if he and his former movie sidekick Bill Cosby would be collaborating again, Poitier responded: “The films we did with Bill Cosby were my productions and I paid Bill Cosby a salary to work for me. Now that he is rich and can produce pictures himself, he has asked me to work for him. But he doesn’t pay very well. The man is very tight with a dollar. I mean, Cosby is so tight with a dollar that the pennies lose their luster in his hand.”
