Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis smelled of alcohol and failed a sobriety test after ramming his car into a curb last January, two Houston police officers testified. Lewis is charged with drunk driving and faces a maximum sentence of two years in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.
Lewis, who lives in Houston, was arrested Jan. 11, after his car hit a curb while making a turn, blowing out two tires. Police said Lewis’ alcohol level was 0.12%. The state’s legal limit of 0.10%.
