CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : FRESNO : DJ Collapses During Late-Night Program
- Share via
Startled listeners telephoned 911 to get emergency help for a late-night radio disc-jockey who collapsed on the air. Police and ambulance crews broke into the locked KFIG station to reach Roger Borbein, who was slumped on the floor in his announcing booth. Borbein was taken to Fresno Community Hospital where he was reported in fair and stable condition, a spokesman said. Station spokesman John Hougard said some people called 911 and others telephoned another nearby radio station seeking help for Borbein after getting no response in calls to KFIG’s request line. Borbein was the only employee at the adult contemporary music station when he collapsed about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.
