Robert S. Harris, dean of the School of Architecture at USC, has announced that he will complete his tenure as dean in June of 1992. He plans to remain as a regular faculty member and extend his civic and professional activities.
Harris continues to be involved in issues of planning and urban design in Los Angeles. He currently serves as co-chair of the Downtown Strategic Plan Advisory Committee and as co-chair of the Mayor’s Design Advisory Committee.
He is one of the founders and a past president of the Urban Design Advisory Council and has served variously as officer or board member with the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the L.A. Conservancy, Barnsdall Park of Los Angeles and Gamble House in Pasadena.
At next year’s conclusion of his two-term appointment at the university, Harris will complete 25 years of administrative leadership in architectural education.
