SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Capistrano Valley, El Toro to Meet at Saddleback

South Coast League rivals El Toro and Capistrano Valley will meet in the semifinals of the Southern Section 4-A baseball playoffs at 3:15 Tuesday at Saddleback College.

Capistrano Valley, which has won five consecutive postseason games, has lost six consecutive times to El Toro over the past three seasons.

In the other Division 4-A semifinal, surprising Canyon will play host to Paramount at Villa Park High School at 3:15 Tuesday.

The semifinal pairings for Tuesday involving county teams:

Division 5-A

Esperanza (26-2) vs. Millikan (20-5) at Blair Field, 4 p.m.; Edison (16-12) vs. Diamond Bar (21-8) at Blair Field, 7 p.m.

Division 4-A

El Toro (18-11) vs. Capistrano Valley (19-10-1) at Saddleback College; Paramount (18-6-1) vs. Canyon (18-9-1) at Villa Park High School.

Division 3-A

La Mirada (20-5-2) vs. Tustin (20-7) at Rancho Santiago College.

Division 1-A

Crossroads (18-5) vs. Orange Lutheran (18-8) at Canyon High School.
