Unisys Corp. is asking employees to volunteer to take severance packages in effort to reduce the Blue Bell, Pa.-based company’s worldwide work force by at least 2,000. The beleaguered computer maker has given employees until Friday to take advantage of the program. After that, the company will decide how many employees it must lay off to reduce the number of employees to less than 70,000 by year-end.
