Columbia and Far West were among 21 that the federal Resolution Trust Corp. officially put up for sale. The action on the two failed S&Ls; was expected. Columbia, based in Beverly Hills, has $5.4 billion in assets and total deposits of $5.6 billion. Newport Beach-based Far West has $3.7 billion in assets and $2.9 billion in deposits.
