Covina : Price of Trash Pickup Rises

Beginning July 1, residents will pay 3.9% more each month for trash pickup.
The council voted 4 to 0 for the increase. Councilman Gary Coffey had left the meeting.
Single-family households will pay $9.62 instead of $9.26, and owners of multiple-family housing will pay $6.89 per unit instead of $6.61.
The city’s contract with Covina Disposal Co. provides for rates to be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index. The contractor will also pay the city a $95.02 increase, to $2,531.49 a month, for processing the trash collection service bills.
