MOORPARK : Planning Board Member Resigns
Moorpark Planning Commissioner Glen Schmidt has resigned from his post to devote more time to his regular consulting job, officials said.
Schmidt, who ran unsuccessfully for City Council in November, has served on the Planning Commission since December, 1988, city officials said. He also served on the five-member commission, which advises the council on development issues, for a brief time in 1987.
Schmidt could not be reached for comment Wednesday. But his son, Dan Schmidt, said his father decided to step down from the commission because of the constant traveling that he must do as an aerospace consultant.
Mayor Paul Lawrason said he will recommend a replacement June 19.
