23 Viet Pirates Arrested

BANGKOK, Thailand — A Thai naval patrol arrested 23 Vietnamese pirates off Pattani province, 800 miles south of Bangkok, bringing to 42 the total seized in a weeklong crackdown, a navy spokesman said Wednesday. Thailand ordered the crackdown in response to an increase in attacks on trawlers by Vietnamese and Thai pirates.
