The Santa Clara County district attorney’s office filed three felony charges against a 17-year-old boy accused of beating a gay man who captured the incident on videotape. The youth surrendered to police. The charges include violation of a person’s civil rights, battery causing serious bodily injury, and assault with a deadly weapon, police spokeswoman Veronica Damon said. William Kiley, 44, told police the youth attacked him while he was watering the lawn of a rental property he owns across the street from his home. Kiley, who sustained a broken nose, black eyes and cuts and bruises, had set up a video camera in his front window on the advice of his lawyer.
