West Los Angeles : New Courtrooms Open
The West Los Angeles branch of the Los Angeles Municipal Court opened a set of new courtrooms this week to take the place of three trailers where judges once presided over preliminary hearings and heard misdemeanor cases.
The new quarters, in rented space at the West Los Angeles City Hall, include three courtrooms, judges’ chambers and a jury room.
Previously, traffic and small claims courts were moved to rented quarters in an office building on Robertson Avenue.
Plans call for the eventual demolition of the current courthouse and construction of two new buildings, one at the present site and another near the Los Angeles International Airport.
