Albums used to enter the Billboard pop album chart at No. 1 once every few years. Now that Billboard figures chart positions with a new high-tech method, albums are debuting on top every week. Last week it was Skid Row, unseated this week by Van Halen’s “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.”
* White rap duo 3rd Bass scored a big hit with “Derelicts of Dialect.” It entered the chart at No. 22.
