Domestic or Foreign?

Arlene Johnson (“Letters from Readers,” July 7) wants a poll of readers on the subject of more United States and fewer outside United States articles. Here’s a vote for balance, which The Times is pretty good at overall. Don’t capitulate to a jingoistic, nationalist call for chauvinism in travel writing or any aspect of reporting or features. Seeing the good ol’ U.S.A. first or last is OK, but an equal amount of foreign, cross-cultural touring does a lot for world harmony and understanding.
