Unlittered Freeway

I was driving from Ventura to Santa Barbara along the 10-mile stretch of 101 that had recently been closed by the derailment. I was thoroughly enjoying the true meaning of the world freeway , and what a pleasant trip it is now that it’s open.
I found it sadly amusing to see a highway sign in close proximity to the Seacliff exit. It read: “Fine $1,000 for littering.”
How ironic.
